Exclamation Bettas and Bubbles

Hi! So my betta fish Sparkey lives in a 5 gallon tank with a filter and a bubbler. His tank is normal temp. (I use the lightbulb his tank came with as a heater. Works great!) But recently he has been "playing" with the bubbles. He's perfectly happy, healthy and BIG!!! I should mention that the bubbler has made a lot of bubbles on the surface. So recently he has been swimming though the bubbles and eating them.I have tried to research his situation, but with no success. Please help!!!!

Doesn't sound like anything to worry about at all. He might think it's a bubble nest. Or, it might actually BE a bubble nest ... are you sure it's from the airstone and not something that he created himself?

Well I have been watching the airstone closely and the bubbles quickly appear after the actual bubbles hit the surface. I think it has to do with the water conditioner. But you might be right. Another thing I forgot to mention was that he likes to swim to where the bubbles are light, and let the small bubbles run up his belly and fins

Sounds like he's just enjoying the bubbles and the water movement ... nothing to be worried about. I wish my daughter's betta was more playful like that ... she gets bored watching him do nothing!
