Both of my male bettas (Mo Mo and Mu, separate containers of course) are in my room rather close to my computer and I listen to music on a reg basis, sometimes loud and other times not so much. They've experienced it ever since they arrived here (which may be why they're used to it as may be the case with Batman's fish although I dk) so I think that maybe they are used to it and they actually seem to enjoy it based on how they swim. But that's my take on it. I think part of it also depends on each ones personality.

I read on a website somewhere that Bettas can actually hear very clearly and that they almost have the same amount of hearing as we do! So, if you have that and then add the sound waves in the water, then I think it may irritate or cause stress to the Betta.

Actually, whenever my bettas hear music, they seem to almost dance to it! Then again, a lot of the music that I listen to is pop, so its not metal. (imagine a betta headbanging!)
I'm actually writing this as my bettas are dancing to music.
It's really strange how they seem to be dancing

It probably depends on how loud the music is as far as whether or not it bothers them.

Mine don't seem to notice when I play my music loud but I don't listen to heavy metal, either.
