Exactly! Every fish is different. So are their owners

Cool! If I find room for another tank, my husband will have a fit! So far we have 5 in the living room, 3 in the kitchen, and 3 in the bedroom. 8 of those tanks are betta tanks. LOL

My king/giant lives in a 10 g with a few friends, I do not think there is a diffrence between a king or a giant be it mine was sold as a king and people say they are smaller than a giant he is over 3 inches he is a an awesome fish fun to watch, very active

No one should jump on you for that! (not that anyone has yet!) I have my Thyeo in a 5 gallon with 2 guppies and a snail and people said I was doing it wrong. So power to you for knowing your fish! :)

a giant would be fine in a 5 gallon, but would be even better in a 10. plus if he's not too aggressive, you might just have room for a few tankmates (a trio of not-too-bright platies could be a good option)

I have a giant who is 3 and a half inches, and yeah, it's baisicly the same. Mine lives in a 5 gallon, and it's perfectly fine. He does need more food...

So the rule of thumb is 1 gallon per inch of fish. So it sounds like 5 gallons would be fine from the Kings I've seen. However, if you have room for a 10 gallon why not?

That rule is not really considered valid anymore, especially with bettas. IMO a king/giant would do just fine in five gallons, but most bettas, giant or not, would like ten gallons.
