your experiences with CT crosses?

i have several CT crosses i want to do and would like to hear what others have found out about outcome?

i have a black blue female CT that i want to cross with a black red and white "dumbo ear" male

i also have a high iridescence, blue to yellow, butterfly CT that i want to cross with a blue delta tail.

what should i expect with the fins?

the first generation will most likely have very messy fins, but if you pick the best out of the bunch and backcross them to one of the pure parents, you can have the start of a good suntail line. remember the second generation is very important, if you most need to improve ray reduction, breed to the CT parent, if you need to improve tail spread, breed to the HM/DeT parent.

CT x non CT = unequal web reduction in F1. How you continue breeding depends on your goals.

CT are said to be recessive. But IMO, you will have slight web reduction for generations because this is actually a natural trait that they carry (slight web reduction). SO to create comb tails, you won't need to breed to another CT for F2. Siblings should be adequate. But if you're going for CT, it would be best to breed F1 to a CT.
