The QT period is up; I hate to drop just poor Tang in w/ 10 inquisitive fish; I was hoping to add the 3 fish at once- what should I do? I may have 1 or 2 males in the mix!

Which 2nd fish?

1st fish- PetSmart yellow baby;

2nd fish- Larger imported yellow w/ long fins (sold to me as a female VT)

3rd fish- Tang, the orange HM.

I don't plan on breeding either veiltail; they're "just pets"; Tang, well, we'll see. She's a flirt.

SO: WHO goes in w/ the 8 girls & who stays isolated?

Pretty sure import vt is a girl and petshop vt looks girly too, you can see a triangle patch where the ovaries are. Although the lightings not too good in vt 1s pic

But they look like this so if you look closely at your fish you'll be able to see them and then youll know for sure

Tang is very cute

I misspoke earlier; I have 8 ladies in the 29 gal. I have a policy of 3 at a time.

And the winners are... Artemis, Option and Myates!!!!
I put all 3 bettas in last night. After I saw that ther was no immmediate aggression, I turned their light off & went to bed.
FF to this morning; everyone was lined up like cattle for breakfast (as usual), but during the feeding frenzy, the larger yellow VT (who we suspected was male) started nipping, flaring, and chasing. I noticed that "his" fins have been nipped. I gave this behaviour about 10 minutes before I netted him & plopped him in a "timeout" tank.
So, the three of you who guessed correctly get first dibs on a free fish!!!
I have plenty of tanks to house another male, but if I bought a male, it would be to breed one of my ladies to. He's strictly ornamental, so I don't want to devote another tank to one fish. That much more work I don't need.

That sucks he is a male :( Love free things, but I honestly don't have the room for any more adult fish right now.. have about 30+ lol.. and then the fry which will need room. So can give my free fish to another :)

Would it be OK for him to be in my shrimp farm until I find him a new home? He may explode from eating my 30 baby shrimp.

Thanks! I, too, like myates do not have any room for extra fish at the moment.

As much as I want to win something I think I will have to be disciplined and realistic about my space this time.
