If you want a little floating moss type thing, you can check your local petco! Its actually moss formed into a ball and held down my a fishing line with a small rock at the bottom. My betta loves that thing lol, he'd wrap himself all over it and try to bite it sometimes.
Here's a pic when he was in the 1.5 gal, you can see it floating : )

this looks like its intended for reptile tanks. Real marimo balls should actually help remove toxins and other things for you anyway as most plants do.

I have two my self and they are about 3 years old. Easiest thing in the world to take care of. You pretty much have do nothing for them.

I have 2 live marimo balls and my one black and yellow betta sleeps on it, or next to it.

I can't seem to find live marimo balls anywhere. I see the moss balls, and ONE time i saw a marimo ball for sale in one of the betta cups...other than that...there's a betta in a display tank at my local petco with what looks to be a live marimo ball in his tank...but he looks very happy with it so i didn't ask if i could take that one lol

My PetSmart stocks them often. Otherwise I have seen them sold on etsy even!

Petsmart puts their marimo balls in cups usually around where the Bettas are. petco often keeps them in tanks with other plants.

Its best to ask whoever the fish guru is of any pet store.

I wouldn't trust the fish person at either Petco or petsmart! I overheard Petcos "fish guru" tell someone to feed bettas two pellets once a week. He also told me that prime wasn't a good condition to use with Betta fish

They also have the moss balls on sale on the Aquabid site, sometimes super tiny! It would be kinda cute to have a buncha them on your tank floor, little ones the size of marbles. :P
