New 5 gallon

Well, sort of new. It's been up and going about a month, but I just added some new plants last week. Feedback?

I really like the natural colors of the decor and river rocks, and I'm assuming these are live plants? The picture is a little blurry but I love planted tanks!

@ AyalaCookieJar, yes, those are live plants. I have some of them floating and some anchored. I need to get better about learning which types are hardy, and what they need, because although I've always had live plants (having heard that plastic ones were hard on fins) I have had to replace them quite often. The larger the tank, the more expensive this gets. So far it's not been prohibitive, but if you have any suggestions there, that would be great.

@ makoisland, thank you so much ... I do think he's a pretty gorgeous fish! Then again, I may be biased!

Looks lovely, is that mondo grass I see though? Those are semi aquatic, unless you knew that :)

I actually only have six different types of live plants at the moment but I think the one that has grown best for me is water sprite, and the java moss that I have still looks good. I have two types of jungle Val and a java fern that started to die with shipping and acclimation so I had to trim off the dead plants and see if they would grow new leaves from there, and my anubias arrived great but I had the light too close to it in QT so hopefully now, in my main tank, it will get better.

The water sprite has been amazing, though! I gave my friend a small jar of ramshorns and put some of that water sprite in there and it is actually growing in that jar without ferts in room temp 0_0 I have a high pH though. Not sure if that affects it a lot.
