poor glofish aka danio.. help?

a while back i was stupid and had no fish knowledge so i decided to go to walmart (bad place to get fish) and buy ONE glofish for my male VT. this poor fella always seems lonely and i was stupid to buy one before researching. my knowledge has increased since and i feel really bad for both my betta and the danio. every time i feeed Zuko(betta) the danio swims up and 50% of the time steals his food before Zuko can get to it and Zuko ends up taking a hard nip at the danio. also, sometimes i will catch zuko flaring and chasing the danio around the tank... the danio scared out of its mind :c i feel horrible for the danio and taking him away from his friends :( does anyone think that if i bring in the danio to petsmart they will take it for free??? i dont want any money for it i just dont want it to be scared 24/7 anymore and i want it to be happy

i didnt mean for this to happen and i know it was a bad choice....

PetSmart policy is to not take fish, but sometimes I hear PetCo will (can't speak for their policy). Also, there are time where the employees of PetSmart of PetCo will take an unwanted fish home with them. And, most LFS will take in fish.

There may be someone near you who has a few glofish and would take him off your hands

Glofish are schooling, could you possibly get another tank setup and get him some buddies?

The Petsmart by me takes back bettas but I'm not sure about other fish.

My local Petco will take donations. If you can get a new tank, GloFish need at least 20 gallon long tanks with a school of at least 6.
