Feeding Betta & Neons

Hello all,

Another question from me. I love this site :)

I have my Betta and 3 neons (soon to be 5) in my 10 gallon heated, filtered aquarium.

Tonight is feeding time (for the 1st time since having the neons).

My question is, when i drop single pellets for my Betta, he gobbles them right up. For the neons, I have tropical fish flakes. So, when I put the flakes in, I am assuming that my betta is going to try to gobble them down.

Will it hurt the Betta if he eats the flakes, and, will anything actually make it to the bottom of the tank where the neons stay.

Does anyone have any tips on feeding 2 different types of fish/food in the same tank?

0: I have no information to add, but I am also interested in seeing answers to this inquery.
Currently doing a fishless cycle in a 10g tank, and am planning on having a betta with some neon tetras, and I've wondered if feeding will create issues, also. -lurks-
