Help! Cycling readings

Can someone help with these readings.

2.5G minibow with 1 bettafish
80F temp
use Prime
use API liquid test kit
feed 3 OmegaOne pellets in morning, 2 at night
Filtered (never changed filter -been 6 weeks)
fake plants, no tankmates

I have been trying to cycle...waiting until the Ammonia hits .5 before doing a water change of 50%
I was able to go 6-7 days before this happened.
On Apr 1 Ammonia hit .5 so I did 50% change
On Apr 3 Amm hit .5 so I did 50% change
Today Apr 6 Amm has hit .5 again ( have not changed water yet)
No Nitrites ever
Nitrates are not quite 0 but also not 5 (maybe 2ppm??)
Can i dose Prime in between water changes??

My ammonia readings never seem to go below .25, and I won't let them go above .5

So, question is what is going on....I have asked before about whether it is cycling or not? Will I ever get there? Am I close? What am I doing wrong?
How can I help it to cycle?
This is why i have been considering upgrading to larger 5 gallon.

Please help!

It's harder to cycle in smaller than 5, it can be done, but never perfectly, IME.
Some real plants will help, so if you can, I'd try something hardy. (Duck weed, for instance. Floating, near indestructible teeny cuteness. But it's indestructible-ness gives it a tendency to overtake the tank. xD )

Some stresszyme might help things along

Yes you can use Prime between water changes I always do. Its hard to cycle a smaller tank like yours but some say it can be done but it takes longer that a bigger tank like a 5 gallon. First you will need to start getting nitrite readings for a couple of weeks before getting any nitrate readings or thats what happened in my case when I cycled my 5 gallon. I have only cycled my 5 gallon and I am sure someone who has cycled a smaller tank will come along to be of more help. It helps to keep a notebook and write down all your readings each time you take them with the date. Good luck and hang in there.

Is it Ok to use with Prime? Do you know what the dosage would be for StressZyme in a 2.5gallon?

I forget the exact dosage. I've gotten so used to how much to use per one liter bottle, I've forgotten.

I've cycled my 2.5 gallon bio-wheels before. Takes awhile. And they're NPT. Currently trying to get a mini-cycle going in them again, at least until the ten is ready and I've got a 5 gal.

It took me a month to cycle a 5 gallon tank. I used stresszyme as the bottle stated too. Hang in there. Its not easy

Is my tank big enough to handle a marimo moss ball?
And, will it help with cycling?

You can put marimos in teeny little things, so yes.
They do help a bit, as they utilize some wastes.
If you really want to boost cycling, grab some easy to care for aquarium plants. =3
