Once upon a time, a long time ago...I was going to be a vet. I got through my second year of college at the University of Tennessee, and realized that anyone who felt the way I did about box turtles who'd been hit by cars...had no business being a vet.
Vets are fantastic people, and so very strong. You would be a fabulous vet, but you're still so young, you don't have to decide right away. You'll figure it out, and don't believe anyone who tells you that you have to know what you want to do with the rest of your life right now. If you do know, then awesome, but be open to changing your mind. :) I went from vet to pharmacy and now I'm in radiology at a hospital...and I *LOVE* my job. It took some time to get there, but it was worth it. :)
Now, I'll stop being your mom, and get back to fishies. ;) I'm with Sakura, can you separate the females until you decide? If nothing else, what about posting them up for adoption in the classifieds if you don't want to do females anymore? At least that way they'd have a chance to live since they've been such tough little fighters already. :)
Anyone who adopted them would most likely know about the recent outbreak, and if they didn't you could definitely put a warning on their advert. If they were QT'd long enough I'd believe that they'd be safe to live with other girls or on their own.
You've had a rough, terrible week...but I hope that things are getting better for you now. Thoughts and prayers for you, you deserve some light after all the heartache!
