Galileo's normal home is a 5 gallon aqueon bowfront. It is filtered and heated and has been running since January. It is cycled. He is currently in a sterilte tub on my kitchen table and will remain there for another 8 days while he completes 2 rounds of medication. Even though he is the sole inhabitant of his tank I put him in QT because it is easier to perform daily 100% changed on a bare bottom tub. I have left his filter running since he was removed as turning it off would have surely killed all the bb by now.
My question is this: will the cycle maintain its self even though he is not in there? I did not change the water since I removed him. What should I do to keep the cycle going?
