Too Much Water Treatment

Our little guy has been bright, healthy and interactive for about a year and a half. He hasn't been feeling well the last few days. We noted some type of a film on his water a few days after we had changed him. We finally realized that the poor little guy had been living in a much too potent mixture of his new water treatment additive over about a 3+ week period. If my math is correct, almost 10x what it should've been. He's disoriented and hasn't eaten for almost two days. Does he have a chance or have we done him in? Is there anything we can do to help him? Thx.

Symptoms and Treatment

When did you start noticing the symptoms?
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how?
Does your fish have any history of being ill?
How old is your fish (approximately)?

I would do a 100% water change, try to get whatever is in the water OUT! Whenever something looks wrong with one of my bettas, I always change the water. That will often help a lot. Also, the film that you are seeing on top, oh, I know this! I want to say that it is just buildup, and I think that there is a thread for it somewhere, but alas I cannot find it XD. I won't hurt him, however. I would do a 100% water change and fill out the questionarre and then we can see what we can do for your little guy! :)

Did you do a 100% water change? I'd do that and see if the stuff eventually works it's way out of his system.

What type of water conditioner did you use?
