You need a guard outside your bedroom door. Or an alarm system. lol So yoou just add ammnia and don't fool with it for a week? I read so many posts about problems and not being able to get the tank cycled and all that stuff. It just makes me think it would be a big headache and more trouble than its worth.

Cycling with fish is a huge headache because you have to worry about the fish's health and constantly be fooling with the tank. In a fishless cycle you don't have to fool with stuff, so it goes quicker and with much less effort on your part. All you really need is a test kit, a tank with gravel and filter, and ammonia. Depending on how many fish you plan to have (you don't need to bump ammonia up as high if you only plan to have 1 fish obviously) you just add ammonia accordingly....and wait. Using some filter material or gravel from an established tank helps a ton, and I've tried some stuff called Cycle as well, but I don't really know if it helped or not.

As long as the tank is healthy, that would be great!
