You would be surprised at the breeders in Thailand with hard water. Aquastar has very high gh, ph and kh. Who would have thougt.. lol. And his fish are drop dead gorgeous. Opposit end is Banglen.. very soft. And both have exceptional fish. Might be something in the water causing your issues.. it was for me

I have very soft water and it doesn't help I load it with IAL.. it's so soft to the point I really can't keep snails healthy as they lose all their calcium in their shells - ended up going with a certain species of plecos for my cleaners lol, but I've been getting spawns with no problem.
