Help cycle my 30gal faster, but can I?

I am aware of using filter media from an existing tank to help cycle another tank.

I was thinking of doing this with the media from my Evolve 4 with a male betta to my 30 gal with two female bettas. But I was concerned about one thing. Would this be a problem? In regards to a male bettas "scent" possibly being on the media, and putting it in a female tank?

I'd assume that they would be able to smell it slightly, but I wouldn't think it would be enough to cause a really big problem or anything.

I'm just giving an opinion though, I've never tried it. Maybe ask on the breeding forum? Surely someone over there has tried it before and could give you some better advice. :)

I have done it to cycle my tanks... with fish that were territorial... you can also take the used filter pad from the other tank too and do the same thing.

But honestly I don't think it would be an issue... but I agree with blue fish the breeders would have a better Idea of it.
