What size tank?

Also, you can't have too much filtration. Usually in betta tanks the biggest consideration is how much room it will take up in the tank.

I have a split 10. I have a sponge on each side so there are no flow issues. I made those, but if you put one on each rated for 5-10 gallons you will have excellent water quality!

From my experience, a 4x4x4" sponge filter with 15PPI can handle 3 bettas and a snail in a 10G divided tank. The PPI (Pores Per Inch) is an indication of how much surface the sponge has (in order to house the Beneficial Bacteria), the smaller the PPI, the more surface. I use 50 PPI sponge for the fry tank.

The basic one I ordered is the exact same one I ordered from another site that said it was rated for 10 gallons :)
