Help! Worm!

I cleaned my betta tank today, like i do every week. But this time i added something to the filter to that it wouldn't disturb the water to much. So i sat there for around 20 mins and then went to lunch. When i came back i watched it again and i saw a white worm swimming in the tank. I thought it was a nematode so u got a syringe to try suck it up, but before i managed, my betta ate it!
What do i do now? And what will it do to my betta?!?!?!?

Also I'm not 100% sure that it was a nematode because it's body was segmented and a nematode is a roundworm. It was white and around 1cm long.
Help please.

It is most likely a harmless detritus worm. I wouldn't worry too much about it....
but do keep an eye out for adverse reactions
