I think culling is necessary. I wouldn't say it is a joy but it is like being responsible that the problem will hopefully be out if your line. And I'm sorry but I only do 1-2 spawns at a time and it has costed me hundreds to start up and I don't know how much more to stay established...

I have to cull hard since the Betta scene is tiny in NZ and I dont want to give away or put sub par fish out there. Theres already enough people selling their mutts around in this country. Plus there is nothing stopping people from breeding the uglies and culls that they have gotten from breeders

There is simply not enough people willing to take the ugly fish so the only thing for them is to cull them.
