5-gallon Fluval Chi on sale at Amazon: $46

This seems like a good deal. I bought my brother one, and I have one coming tomorrow so I can add to my betta collection. :)

You'll be happy with it. I'm happy with mine. I have my betta, a few ghost shrimp, and an adf in it. I suggest you get the lid for it though. I have no problem with low light plants in it either.

The lid is sold separately, then? Well at least there is a lid for it, when I saw those lidless at the pet store I thought " what about jumpers?!"

Yeah, you can get a cover for about $5. The tanks didn't originally come with them, but I guess enough people needed them that they came out with them as an option.

I'm wondering already if there's a way to add this light on to it, despite the filter being in the way, just so I could have more plants: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...A1N6XPDSWPR6EW

I will have the tank on my desk in front of a huge, bright window, though, so maybe I won't need it....

Just beware of bright sunlight shining directly onto or in your fish tank, not only could that potentially make it too hot, but lots of sun shining on a tank is apparently wonderful for algae growth.
