I'm looking for snail suggestions.
I have decided I am sick and tired of the snail tank. It smells awful. It was the tank that Neptune was in that got overrun by pond snails. I let them have the tank, but they die and breed and ugh. I added four mystery snails to the tank because I wanted to make it at least look pretty. I have cleared out (to the best of my ability) the pond snails and I am rehoming them to my cousin (finally
) who has a pond with koi. The koi can keep the population down... not my problem anymore. Woo Hoo!!
Anyway, I decided to split the 10 g and put Neptune and Marius into it. Both are currently in 2.5 g tanks. I think they'll like the upgrade. This leaves me with the four mystery snails. Neptune is a sweetheart, and was never aggressive with his snail. I was thinking of adding one to his 1/2 of the tank. That leaves 3 snail. I was debating putting one on Marius' side too (that would be 2 snails in an unfiltered 10 g, but no more pond snails to mess up the bioload). Do you think that is do able? I do not have any live plants in there except one marimo moss ball per side.
If that is do able, that leaves 2 more snails I need to find a place for. I have another 10 g tank that has Eponine in it. She can not have a snail (she does not play nice with others), but I could divide a portion of the tank out for another snail. I don't want to cut down her tank too much, because she uses the whole 10 g tank. That would leave one snail...and all I have are 2.5 g tanks left. I would have 2 empty ones, and 1 with Ranger (rescue with no anal fin, but its' coming back
) in it.
Suggestions please. I can't really rehome because all the people I know with tanks have aggressive fish that have killed their snails.
So here is the lay out:
1 10 g (I am going to split between Neptune and Marius)
2 empty 2.5 g
1 2.5 g with Ranger in it
1 10 g with Eponine (who can not have her own snail, but I could split tank)
