Well! Looks like the 100% water change did Tian-Tian some good after all! :)

I just fed him two Wardley pellets and he scarfed them down! :D
I offered him some freeze-dried bloodworms, but he ate one and spat it out. I think he'll be okay for now.
He still acts lethargic and lies in his plants for most of the day, but I think he'll be okay for now. Darn fish just scares me sometimes... ;)

I'm glad he's doing better and eating something. :)

I am very sorry about your cat. Seriously I don't know what I will do when mine die :( *hugs*

I'm glad Tian-Tian is doing better though! How often do you do water changes? Maybe he just needs them more often.

Thank you, Kim.

Yeah, I usually do 'em every 4 days... but what I think was the problem was the gravel; it was just too dirty. I rinsed it out completely and it seems to be better now.

Tian-Tian doesn't swim actively too often (he's playing with his castle right now, however). He ate two Wardley bites yesterday and a live earwig that happened across my desk (it came from the air vent, WTH). I've never seen him get so excited over food! He was actually the one that saw it first and he was swimming along the side of his tank, flapping his pectoral fins rapidly and opening and closing his mouth at it. So I picked it up with a pair of tweezers, dropped it in and he just went crazy over it. :D

Ahaaa, just now we were playing hide and seek with his flowers. He's flaring at me and strutting around the tank. His colors are nice and bright today, too.

*sighs happily* I'm so glad he's healthy again. He seriously held off eating for about two weeks. :( I was so worried!

I think he'll be fine. They're like us, they have their days when they don't feel good.

can you considered vacuuming the gravel during regular water changes? You don't need anything fancy. a turkey baster works for us just fine. You can suck up anything you see and also run it around the inside of the gravel and stir it up a bit and then suck up anything that comes out. that might keep it a little cleaner between gravel rinsing.

I'll need to invest in a turkey baster when I go home in two weeks from college. Tian-Tian's coming with me. :D

I use a turkey baster. My bettas have a habit of letting their brine shrimp sink to the bottom and it irritates the heck out of me. lol
