I to have the under 30 dollar 5 gallon tank from Walmart an love it. With heater gravel an a few plants we spent just around 50 dollars but I would deffiently look on craigslist

I have the 5 gallon kit from Wal-Mart also and it's great! The only thing I don't like is that it has LED instead of standard lights - I think the live plants I have in there need more light than this. Other than that - it's fantastic, and other than a heater and your decor, you'll have everything you need.

I found a 3g on craigslist for $15 that comes with gravel,plants, a filters, and lights!!
I know it isn't the best deal but I live in a college town so there aren't many aquariums for sale...

Great Craigslist find. It's always a good idea to check there. A few years ago a friend of mine scored a whole set of Boaphile cages (high end snake cages) in like new condition for 1/3 of their retail price.

Definitely show us some pics after you set it all up!
