Hard Warter?

My concern is hard water, I purchased two different test kits Quick Dip 6 test in one strip the other API Ammonia test kit. The quick dip came back with hard water 300ppm all the other parameters were good. Then to be sure used API test, resulted no ammonia. My tank is 2.5 gal, The water is aged a week ahead and treated with Tetra Aqua Betta Safe. Also purchased Simply Betta Protector to stabilize pH & reduce stress. Have not used this yet directions are to be add 3 days after adding or water change. No one at pet shop could give any useful information, Could use some advice please.
