Question Snail On Hood...?

So in my 30 gallon I had one of my Mystery Snails lay eggs and that's all taken care of, but now my largest one, Estabon, is climbing up to my hood. I opened it to find him and he fell down to the bottom of the tank. Do Mystery Snails need a boy and a girl, or are they like pond snails? Because if they're going to keep laying eggs I may have a problem... My aunt seems to think his going to the hood is him/her trying to lay eggs.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

They need a male and a female to reproduce.

It's nor uncommon for them to climb out of water though since they can breathe air. I have found 2 of mine on the floor wandering around.

I have two, unsure gender... They have never crawled out before, is why I'm concerned.

Eggs or bad water quality, most likely. Have you tested your water?

Yes, and everything is good, but the ammonia was about .25, so I did a large water change. It's gone back to 0 now.

So, likely it's to lay eggs somewhere. I know that female nerites will lay eggs even if there is no male around, but I'm not sure about mystery snails.

Thank you very much! My mother is now very interested :) I keep looking and Estabon, now Consuela, seems to be heading for the lid again.

Female mystery/apples can carry sperm for 6-12 months. So yes, you can get surprise clutches.
