Quick question about new betta

Just wondering how long do you guys wait to feed a betta you just got, I dont know what the petstores feeding schedule is so I dont want to overfeed him, but if hes one of the neglected bettas that havent eatin in weeks I want to give him food, just wondering because I got my new baby today.

Hes actually not a baby hes almost full grown, I got him to breed with my girl but the petstores selection was crap, I got the prettiest male there because I already made my mom drive an hour and a half out there, cant come back empty handed. I dont know if Im going to breed him though, hes a Delta and shes a crowntail. And shes dark blue hes, light blue.

How do you now if they're too old to breed, he looks kinda old but not like hes "dying" age yet. Ill get pics up later and maybe you guys could help determine an age.

I would just feed him tomorrow. I usually wait about 12 hours...

I tried and hes very difficult to get pics of, it will be easier once I start feeding him, I cant wait for him to drop his ventral fins and flare out his dorsal, his cup was too smal for him to do any stretching so he kept both tucked in but I see him dropping his ventralsone at a time like checking to see if he has room, which he a ten gallon to himself so he does.

I always feed mine the same day, just whatever time the next feeding for the rest of my fish is.
