We don't have the room for 2.5 gallon tanks, they are also too expensive.

As long as the jars are cleaned, and kept in the warm fish room, the fish are pretty healthy.

Ofcourse there is option 2, I use a couple of divided ten gallon tanks, cut into four sections, so each betta gets 2.5 gallons of water.
Most of my jars are gallon sized.

Tank Size: 2.5 gallons, thinking of upgrading to two 5 gallon tanks.
Water Conditioner: Tetra Aqua Betta Safe
Meds: Betta Fix(used for Finrot), Mardel(hopefuly i will not have to use this one because I use it for popeye)
food: TetraBetta floating mini pellets, Betta Bio-gold
