Hi everyone! I have a 2.5 gallon tank with silk plants and one betta, one snail, and one inch-long algae eater. It also has gemstones at the bottom. Due to the bettas growth, I moved him to this tank about a year and a half ago because he was too big for his one gallon tank. I was wondering about how often i should change/clean the water.

I usually change it about once every two weeks and all the animals are fine but I was wondering if i should change it more often or at least incorporate changing half of the water on a weekly basis.

I would do a full change once a week or do 2 partial (50%) changes a week and one full change a month. Welcome to FishForum.

I have a 5 and 10 gallon and I do weekly or twice weekly 50% water changes.

I clean my 1 gallons 100% two times a week... Then 100% 2 gallon two times a week
