Case of the missing Betta!!

I didnt know where to put this, but when i got home from going to a movie just a few minutes ago Sylvester was missing?! I didnt realize at first, but i was brushing my teeth and looked into his tank and he was no where. His tank is covered, but i looked on the ground anyway just in case. No Sylvester. I was stumped. Then my boyfriend said "maybe he swam down the tube?"......low and behold, there he was!!!




he had swam down the tube where the bubbles are and on the bottom theres a little space where he could swim around under the rocks. It was crazy. Had a full blown "operation rescue sylvester" mission. Hes fine now, but idk what to do to keep him from swiming down there again.....

any ideas?

You could use some plastic canvas (cut to fit the size of the hole) and run the airline tubing through it and place it on top of the tube.

That IS wierd. I have an airstone with one of those tube things, too but I'm not going to use it now that I've heard that story.

I had this tank before my 5 gallon tank. And my betta did that - it scared me to death! This is one reason I bought a new tank...I was just so afraid he'd get stuck down there.

MrVampires idea sounds good. Walmart has the plastic canvas in the craft section for cheap.
