body went lame!!!!!

fishy1 scared me today..he has been building a huge huge bubble nest for a while now.so anyway i said morning to him and was about to leave,my curiosity ot the better of me and i started counting the bubbles lol...i eventually ran out of fingers and toes so i looked at him and told him to cool down he wont be getting any...then all of a sudden he goes straight to the bottom of the tank and his body went completely lame!!!!!falling to its side on the stones!

i rushed like a maniac to get a container and prepd water(i keep on hand).then as i tried to get him he became energised again..is it from the nest building?he seems to be doing great now flaring at his reflection and swiiming like a mad thing.

ive found him a few times resting on the fake bambooo leaves...other night just before bed i found him on the top leaves almost out the water?is that normal? im worrired if he goes lame again is it natural?

Yes its normal. Bettas need to rest as well. I often look for mine and they are just sitting on something. At first i freaked out too,thinking somethings wrong. But no,its normal.

Bettas sleep too. They don't like getting disturbed from their beauty sleep (not that they need it lol). But ya he's just tired after working on that nest :)

Yeah, mine needs to rest a lot when the filter is on because he's constantly fighting it. How strong is your filter flow? It's probably just that he was tired. No worries at all.

ah ok thanks lol,we dont use heaters or filters in our tanks yet,ill be upgrading his tank later on and thatll have all the niggly bits lol.at first i thought i broke his heart by saying im not getting him a girl..lol but i just ordered a few females from my pet shop yesterday.they only had small lil ladies neway and id prefer some older gals for now.no intention on breeding thou.lol its too much of a mission at the moment.
