I received a petsmart betta as a gift in December. When I received it, its fins were torn. I just guessed that it was a result of being roughly handled in shipping. Now I'm pretty certain that it was fin rot, as it has only got worse regardless of a bigger tank, frequent water changes etc. (he lost half of one of his pectoral fins a few days ago).
I started him on Maracyn 2 three days ago. This morning, I noticed he had long, trailing, transparent thing
trailing behind him. It looks almost as though it could be new growth, but I doubt it could get that long over night (it's about twice as long as one of his original fins).
Is this a good sign, or a sign of some new horror?
