Halfmoon fin damage...will it heal?

I have a male halfmoon and I stupidly stuck him in a community tank with only two other fish in it to see if it will work out and his caudal fin got trashed. His tankmates took huge tattered chunks out of the center and to make matters worse it looks to be a little infected. I moved him out into his own 10 gallon tank and treated with Fungus Clear tablets and a dash of aquarium salt, will his fins ever grow back to look the way they did or will he be a tattered halfmoon forever?
