2 Different Random Subjects..

So I have to different things I need to know but instead of wasiting space Ill just stick them in here.

First, I had this huge bubblenest in my 10g a few days ago. Im wondering if a female can blow this many or if it might be something in the water/filter creating them. I know females can blow bubbles, and mine has but its normally very few thin bubbles that go around the edge, this one is huge bigger than any male of mine has blown. Here is a picture:




The second question is, I want to get a good pair of bettas, and I really want something I have to search for. I want to try too find a nice White Male and white female, or a nice Black male and paired female. The reason why I say paired female for the black is that black females are infertile, so what I need to know is how do you get black fry? Do you have to pair a black male with a female that carries the black gene or what? I think it might be easier to find a white pair but those black ones have a certain evil yet desirable look to them.

I have no idea about the bubblenest but you might find out some info on the black bettas at bettatalk. Faith breeds them.

I have no advice, but an all black Betta would be beautiful!

Yah I was looking at some one Aquabid and they are AMAZING but they are all in Thailand or whatever, and of course I would be willing to pay whatever price for it I cant see explaining to my mom that I want to spend my gas money on a fish that is on the other side of the world.

Depends on the type of black your talkin about.

Yah I just discovered that there are black bettas that arent melano, melano are the infertile ones arent they?

And I guess my female did, shes in the tank alone with neons and cories so I dont see whoelse would, it was either her or the filter but the filter never did that before. Maybe she just wants a mate, hehe, she had her chance and she blew it.

On two occasions my male has blown nests that large. I always found it amazing. Like you, I should take a picture of it, should he ever do it again.

My opinion? The white bettas are beautiful.

Well, females do blow nests occaisionally. I didn't know that they would make one that big.
