new here and just set up the tank

well we returned the one betta and as a special treat afterwards I bought the kids milk at starbucks and let them drink it out of cups with straws (hey that's awesome to toddlers)

so i just have the one betta now. thinking i will call her opal since she's that iridescent white/pink color.

i'm still waiting for the water in the tank to get up to room temperature. She came in a cup so how do i introduce her to the tank? should i put her in a ziplock bag or is there a way to float the cup in there?

The cup will float.

when I introduced mine, I held the cup there for like 15-20 minutes...It may seem tiring, but not really. Its worth it, since I didn't want my fish to get temperature shock!

My cups always float, so I don't worry about it. I hold it for about a minute, make sure it's floating and leave them there for about 30 minutes, then introduce them to the tank. They've all been fine.

I float the cups. Of course I didn't figure out until later that the cups float just fine in their tanks. Now, that's all I use to acclimate them.
