Betta and the heater

We have a single betta fish (named Timmy) in a 10G tank with a
submersible heater that attaches to the side of the tank. Timmy loves the heater, but I am afraid he is getting too hot. The water temp stays about 80, but sweet Timmy tries to sleep inbetween the heater and the glass wall of the tank.... or under the heater... or on the heater.... Should I replace the heater with a different kind or do you think he will be ok?

80 degrees ought to be fine.

It should be fine. I've had a couple of Betta that would hang around the heater a lot too.

It should be fine. Just keep a thermometer in the tank so you can know the temp. I have one that sleeps by the heater!!
