unexpected trip out of town

i am unexpectedly going out of town from the afternoon of the 30th to the afternoon of the 3rd. I dont really know of any neighbors to check up on my betta. If I do a 50% water change on the 30th would my betta be ok until the 3rd? I saw the "vacation" food stones but do those actually work?

what do i do about her light? just leave it on? i hate the idea of leaving her alone for this long.

Leave the light off (son't want it to overheat). Those food things probably don't work, sure for your regular fish but not snobs like bettas.

It depends on the tank size.

Hope this helps!!!

get some one you trust...not someone who will say they did it but didnt, then they blame some stupid exscuss on why she died. depending on where you live how cold it gets and how cold her tanks gets i would leave the light on...but only if it gets cold

For only 3 days I would leave the light off, feed them right before you leave and feed them as soon as you get home. As far as water changes go, do your regular water change before you leave and start back on your regular schedule when you get home. Don;t worry about them not getting fed, they;ll be fine for just 3 days. Hope this helps.

Yup, I would do what DQ said. If you feed him on the 30th and when you get back on the 3rd it's really only 2 days that he'll go without food.
