Question As a starter fish?

Since a beta is "relatively hardy" could one be used as a starter fish for a somewhat new tank?

Somewhat new meaning its been just a 20 gallon tank of water for months and i just cleaned off things and got a new filter and heater and syphon cleaned the gravel and only left about 1/4 tank original water.

yes, that will be awesome. bettas are pretty hardy, and I'm sure that a betta would LOVE the room! I personally find it that females are a bit hardier than the males. :)

Awesome, i was just lookin through the pics that people uploaded on here and the blue crowntail (i think) made it a for sure must to get one. Plus my 3 month old kitten loves to watch fish in the 46 gallon tank upstairs when i hold him up to it so hes gonna go crazy since this tank is near the floor so he can sit and watch and chase them.
