Is it possible to cycle a 2.5 gallon tank?

I've read mixed reviews on this topic, and I'm just curious what everyone's opinion/experience is on the matter. I currently house my betta's in 2 2.5 gallon tanks, as this is all that space will allow me at the moment, and I wonder about cycling these tanks. Is it possible?

Should I maintain the uncycled tanks with full water changes every few weeks, or attempt to cycle these tanks with 25-50% water changes instead.

Is it possible to fishless cycle a tank of this size, if I were to house the current resident in a 1 gallon bowl (which i have on hand for salt baths and water changes) for the duration of the cycle?

Just looking for advice here, as I have never used a tank this size before.

I have a 2.5 gallon tank, I didn't cycle it, since from what I've read and been told, tanks under 5 gallons don't really cycle. I have a Red Sea Nano Filter on my tank, so I just do 50% water changes weekly, but at the moment I am cleaning his tank 100% every 5-6 days since my betta had a strong case of fin rot.

Yeah, like Scienceluvr said. That amount of water just can't really stay stable enough to cycle completely from what I've heard, Things get out of balance very quickly. 100% every week should be good though.
