Hi I am new to Betta's and after getting one as a present, started researching on how I can make sure he will live a long, happy life. About two days ago, I moved him to a 5.5 gallon tank from a fish bowl. When he was in the bowl, I did not notice any problems other than some black tips which I believe to be ammonia burn. When we moved him he looked really happy in his new 5.5 gall - a little scared but exploring. He's been eating well, and does not seem constipated. Today while I was viewing him, I saw his entire left side of his face puff - sort of like a puffer! I've never heard of anything like this or seen it so am not sure what it is. Is this normal? Could he have gotten a cut or something from one of the plants in the new tank? I have no idea so any feedback would be greatly appreciated! I'm a little worried about the little guy - I don't want him dying on me so soon after all the time and money I invested in him and have grown fairly attached to him.
