does this look like tail biting or fin rot?

it started on wednesday and he has been in salt treatment for it since wednesday but his tail is still disappearing more everyday theres no dark edges but there are transparent parts. he has always had black patches on his fins which i've always thought were markings but i've only had him 3 weeks so i'm starting to think they are not markings you can see the dark line in picture 1 & 2

1st pic wednesday
2nd pic thursday
3rd pic friday

Looks like fin rot to me. Make sure his water clean, warm & conditioned & he should heal up. Don't know your tank set up or your water change schedule but whatever it is you'll want to do much more water changes until it heals up & you may have to do more regular water changes after that.

he's in a heated conditioned 6 gallon that i changed every 6 days
i also tested the water when he first got the problem and it was fine

since wednesday when he got problem i've been cleaning him everyday
and he's also been in salt treatment and ial the salt treatment has slowly been increase to 3 tsp gallon
the trouble is i'm doing all that but it still seems to getting worse everyday

would fin rot make him lethargic? because he's not lethargic at the moment.

You may have to use meds since its progressing so quickly. Was the tank completely cycled before you added him; 0 ammonia/nitrites & <20 nitrates?

i don't think it was cycled i put him in a day after adding the water to the tank i've been doing 80% to 100% water changes every 6 days when he first got the problem i tested the water it said ammonia nitrites nitrates were all 0.

Well if everything was 0 then it wasn't bad water quality. If you're cycling a tank then don't do 100% water changes, only do a ~50% when the ammonia or nitrites are >.25. I guess I should've asked if you're running a filter on the tank? If its unfiltered 2 weekly 50%+ water changes, one with a good vacuuming should've sufficed IMO. I would lessen the amount of water changes since he's in a 6g, part of the current problem could be that he's stressed because of daily water changes, some of them don't like it. I would do a 50% or so every 2-3 days & only replacing the Aq salt for the amount of water removed.
