Females=peaceful NOT

Ok so I went to check on my fish. Two females in my community tank were goin at it like two top trained plakat fighters!! Bitng the heads, tails, and scales. They chased away the other female and continued fighting. From the betta fights I've seen on youtube this tells me I need to seperate them. So I'm going to buy 3 jars, tear down the tank and turn it into a spawning tank. What gets me is the fact that they've been living together for almost a year.

Something upset them or they reached mental maturity and decided they no longer liked each other.

I have a joke i could say about it too but I do not want to come off as a chauvinist, so I shall bite my tongue.... ouch!

Yea i bet they reached mental maturity. That sucks! You'd think they would have been fine, seeing as how they arent as aggressive as the males, but that goes to show that they are, and can be. Best of luck with having to re-do everything.

Yop. It suprised me because they're the only two survivors of the original 4 females I put in the tank. They were side by side at PetsMart, as I remember, and they always got along great!!

So I jarred them and tore down the tank and moved to the fishroom. Extra spawning tank!!!!! That's the good thing that came out of this.
