Any Idea How Old My Female Betta Is?

I have a dark blue, red, and black female betta. She is about 1.5" long, maybe a bit more but its hard to tell through the glass. Sorry, I dont have access to a way to upload pictures...Thanks!

It's hard to even guess age. Some may grow quicker while others slower. BUT usually breeders sell their bettas at 4 months. So give or take a few weeks, and considering the time for shipment and handling, I'd say about 5 months. She is NOT too old to breed (your other thread). Just follow Matt's (or who ever) advise.

Growth rate is not much to go on when it comes to age. My friend had some 5 month old guppies that were the size of fry because she didn't take good care of them or feed them "because the food smells bad". It might not be the exact same for bettas, but the growth rate certainly differs.

indjo- I did not get her from a breeder. I got her from a good fish store (wetpot) that I have been referred to for this purpose. but I dont know how long she was there before I bought her. I left a message with the store owner but he hasnt replied yet. I just figured that if they bred before he got back to me then she wasnt too old. but since she hasnt, I was wondering if that was a possibility.
