Guppies A No-Go?

So today I went to fish store to get a live plant for Bianco's tank (hopefully it'll live, I'm not sure if there's enough bacteria yet) and I saw these incredible fancy guppies I'm desperate to have. So I've decided to go ahead with Bianco's 5 gallon upgrade and use my current 2 gallon for a couple of guppies. Thing is, I have a space issue, and I was wondering if it's possible to have the guppies share a tank with Bianco, or if there's no way it could end well.

I'm hesitant to add any other fish to Bianco's tank, because he's a pretty solitary fish. I just wanted to know if it was an option to consider, or if I should go ahead with my plan for separate tanks. Either way, it's time to bust out the measuring tape! ^.^

I wouldn't do it. Some are OK, usually they aren't Ok with guppies. If you want to add more fish, get at least a 10 gallon.

it may take some research ... but arent guppies more of a cold water fish?

I tried an experiment with a five gallon and 2 cardinal tetras ... I put gawain in with them and he went immediately into hunt mode. the poor cardinals were quickly removed and put in the 3o gal... where the joined with the neons school.

the 5 gal was to confining for the peaceful fish to be with an aggressive tankmate and noplace to run...

sure its always good to test ... but always be prepared for quick action and a back up plan.

I have my two female bettas with 4 fancy guppies (2 male 2 female) and an african dwarf frog. They are all fine together (ina 10g tank)
But mine are females, and yours is a male... so idk

I think females do better with guppies than males.

Yea, and wow, that's luck to have two females fine together. I agree about the female-guppy comment

My two girls hang out together, and try to avoid the guppies. Its quite surprising actually.

I bought a third betta last night, and found her dead this morning. It was a bad shipment at petco, I shouldve known better =/

I hope she didn't have any diseases that got passed to the rest of your fish.

I hope not either. I'm going to do a water change when I get home at 3 today, and then go yell at the petco people >.<

I'd cry if my girls died :(

(I probably sound horrible for saying this but im neutral about the guppies. My mom gave them to me. They are all cred-bred-incest guppies. She gave them to me as starter fish, and they are still in the tank. They look weird )

I would just keep an eye on the girls and if they show signs of disease then you can treat them for it. Hopefully everything will be ok.
