Am I on the right track with the cycle?

I am currently trying to cycle a split ten gallon to house two boys. Here are my water parameters so far.

I know that the ammonia should spike, is the nitrite spike normal as well? (BTW- this is fishless)

Since it is fishless, is there a need for a water change?

Thanks BTW

Not at this point. If your nitrites get off the charts & stay there for a week or so it could stall the cycle but at this time you're good.
