Yea, like neenar asked, it all depends on the size of your tank wether you even need one or what kind

Your tank might be to small. My tanks are anything from quart jars to 30 gallon tanks. You should keep your bettas in tanks 2.5 gallons or larger.

I used a 25 watt in a 2.5 gallon for Flair - but that was temporary. You should be using a 2.5+ gallon tank. I have 2 5 gallon tanks, and I have a 25 watt heater and a 50 watt heater (both Hydor's). I do recommend you get one that you can change the temperature on though if you decide to get one...the Hydor Mini you can't control what your temperature is.

I've got the 25 watt Marineland Visi-therm Stealth heater for my five gallon, and I'm very pleased so far with how well it's been working.

I have a Elite Mini 25w partially submersible heater by Hagen. I use it for my plastic 2.25G tank and I'm quite happy with it! It seems to distribute evenly even though I have no filter and it hasn't damaged my tank or hurt my fish.

The only bad thing about it is that you can't tell what temp you're turning to....you just have to wait to see what it goes to....but after awhile you come to learn the temp of the tank and how much to turn the knob.
