Another question

Thanks for the advice a little earlier. So you guys said (and I've read) that bettas like to have decorations and places to hide. None of mine have anything but gravel. Yeah Im still very knew to this. What kind of accessories should I get them that would not hurt them?

Thanks!

Silk or live plants and a cave/bridge, etc. Make sure it doesn't have pointy or sharp edges though.

Yup what dr2b said. You can also add terra cotta pots, I believe those shouldn't leech any harmful chemicals into your tank, correct me if I'm wrong though; you can also add a glass mug if you like. Those two can serve the purpose as being somewher safe your betta can retreat to.

There's lots of decorations at the petstore- but yeah make sure they don't have any pokey corners or sharp edges or rough bits. Other than that just whatever theme you're going for- I like a natural look but others like to color coordinate with their fish, or you can just get something cheap and functional like a half buried little flower pot. Fish love to sleep in them. Just make sure it's the right size stuff for the tank you have.

I bought what i thought was safe but have now found that even if I replace the plastic plants with silk ,the actual decoration has very rough bits, ah well!

Yeah some silk plants do have rough spots. Many people do things to help fix that on the forum if I remember correctly...like trimming and what not.

Silk plants and a cave or something to hide in. They pretty much covered it!
