Thanks guys. I've been weaning him off bloodworms and have only fed him about once about 6 bloodworms in the course of two weeks (3 per saturday).. He's been taking a few NLS pellets, but will often refuse to eat more than 1 at a given time. The tank is in mid-cycle, I'm doing a fish-in cycle.
I have been using prime, and the plastic wrap and have also put a bucket of greenwater outside, but the mosquitoes refuse to lay eggs :/
Wait ... it's safe to actually try to get mosquitoes to lay eggs in a bucket of clean water so that they hatch and then you just feed the larvae to your fish? Why did I never think about that? The larvae are everywhere around here ...
Still, good luck with him! Hopefully he'll take to the pellets completely. :)
Ok, I have buckets that catch water from the gutters [so the yard doesn't flood], but I'll set up some new ones instead. How would you suggest catching them? I have a brine shrimp net. Would that work?
Thanks for the help :) He's been doing okay. Still a bit clamped and chews up NLS pellets only to spit them out again. I've tried adding some garlic, but he still refuses it. Hopefully he'll eat when he gets really hungry.
At least when he's chewing them he's still getting some food. My PK, Owl, would do that all the time. He'd wait for the pellet to dissolve and then go after the smaller pieces. He wouldn't accept it if I did that ahead of time though, he HAD to do it himself. So, at least your boy is still getting some food. :)
