Question Lonely Betta?

I have a tank with one betta and two zebra danios, and i'm giving up the two zebras because my tank is two small for them. Because my betta is all on its own i'm worried about him being lonely, can betta fish get lonely? Should I get him a ghost shrimp or something? Thanks

i'm probably not the best person to answer this but my guy doesn't appear lonely, although I'm only noticing when I'm at home... hmmm. Anyone else?

No, bettas don't get lonely, they would prefer being solitary. :) As long as he has tank with enough decor (plants, etc) he will be fine.

Bettas are fish, not humans. As much as we would like to think so they do not feel human emotions.

Your betta will not be lonely, but I would give him some sort of stimulation, like allowing him to flare at a mirror for a couple of minutes a day.

Most Bettas prefer to be alone in their territory (they're called fighting fish for a reason), but the LOVE human interaction. So don't worry about him being lonely, as long as you are interacting with him on a daily basis, he'll be fine, and probably much happier since he's not sharing his home with others.
