How can I keep the water from getting too hot?

The water for my betta seems to be at least one degree under the temperature for the room and since my mom hates air conditioners Ciel's water is currently in the low 80's. It's suppose to get into the 90's soon and I don't want my fish to over heat. Any suggestions?

The last time I made I comment that his water was getting warm my mom suggested floating an ice cube in there. I personally thought that would be a bad idea.

In the summer on my larger tanks I freeze water in bottles and float them since I don't have a/c.

I don't know how large a tank you have but you might be able to do something similar.

Placing a fan to blow over the surface of the water will also help cool it down.

We generally get a couple heatwaves in summer where my water will push the very high 80's which is warmer then most of my fish like, so I try and keep the water a bit cooler.

In July and August we see some mid 30's C day, luckily its not a daily thing or I would have a/c..lol
