really stupid question but i have to ask....ideas anyone???

i feel stupid for asking this but do the male fish see in the dark for when the fry have hatched? i have been too scared to turn the light off in that room in case he cant see the babies falling to catch them?????

You have to leave the lights on while he's with the babies.

I don't think you need a really bright light, just enough for him to be able to see the babies.

i almost never turn on the hood light. at night, i place a really dim desk lamp next to the tank.

I've left the tank lights on ever since I put Pearl in the tank and now they're on for Merlin to take care of the babies.

thats good,ive left a desk lamp on next to the tank as soon as it starts getting dark and during the day i turn it off and he just has the sunlight

I don't know much about breeding Bettas but Mr. McFish usualy dosen't swim into much at night but it might be different with the fry.
